"Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Support Group for Women."
Support Groups offer a safe, non-threatening environment in which victims and survivors of sexual assault or domestic violence validate each other's feelings, give one another support, and share coping ideas and experiences. These support groups help provide a major step in the recovery process, a process that is ongoing because of the crisis and trauma of sexual assault or domestic violence. Call 530-257-4599 for more information on these groups or any of LFS's services to survivors of violent crime.
Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence support groups are open ended in nature with ongoing discussion and are self directed by the group. The support groups meet in a community setting and are free of charge and self-supporting. It is important for the groups to have a specific meeting time and place. Attendance is encouraged but is not required. These support groups include information pertaining to, but not limited, the cycles of violence, the power and control wheel, characteristics of abusers, emotional abuse index, safety planning, the correlation between domestic violence and substance abuse and the effects of domestic violence on children and pregnancy. We provide on going and self supporting discussions for victims of rape/AMAC which is "Adults Molested as Children."
